    Hi Elly,

Thanks for this! After a year hiatus from my artwork, I am finally getting back into it, and sometimes I really want to disqualify myself by comparing myself to others on social media. It takes some vigilance, but lately, I’ve been trying to see other creatives as human and as my peers, rather than competition. It’s tough sometimes, but I’m going to keep at it. This post helped; it’s important for us creatives to discuss the setbacks as well as the successes in order to be realistic about the field.

    Peace,
    Gabriel

    Hi Elly,

Thanks for this. I’ve recently gotten back into making artwork after over a year of a hiatus, and it’s been tough. I am inclined to compare where I am at to other artists and sabotage myself by doing so. I appreciate your honesty about your setbacks as well as successes, It’s really vital that young artists know the reality of the art field.

    Peace,
    Gabriel
