Giving a speech at graduation isn’t something that I thought would happen for me. It doesn’t fit my modus operandi, it isn’t like me. However, when I heard that the sign-ups were available, I knew it was something that had to happen. Yes, like destiny.

My mom told me that being the bigger person doesn’t mean not being able to say “fuck you.” Although I won’t be handing out any of those, this speech—the act of being on stage, the act of speaking and finally being listened to—will be enough of a release. I didn’t write about them. I wrote about myself. And sometimes, that is the best Fuck You. ♦
