One of my all-time favorite songs as a little kid was “Monster Mash”. I just loved the idea of a mad scientist helping monsters get their groove; and Dracula, the Wolfman, and zombies throwing the best dance party ever in a graveyard. In honor of Halloween and our Cast of Characters theme, I ask you to bring “Monster Mash” to life. Get your favorite spooky folks together and throw a party. You can bring in some classic creatures of the night, or maybe you’ll want to bring more modern and varied scary characters into the mix. Spike from Buffy. Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter. The Blair Witch. Freddy Krueger. Your monster mashup could be hilarious, or terrifying and gruesome, depending on whether they are innocently dancing or plotting to terrify.

Tell a story, write a poem, or make a visual interpretation of how the monsters are celebrating Halloween this year, and send it along with your first name, last initial, age, and location to [email protected] with the subject line “Creative Prompt” by Monday, October 24 at 6 PM EST.
