When in doubt, hide behind a T-shirt of your heroes.

Hello, dearies! Last week, one of the people I admire MOST came to my school to do a presentation: Nick Offerman! I was so excited but also freaking out, because I was nervous about seeing him IN PERSON and having my copy of his book Gumption signed by him. I wish I had prepared myself better to see him, so I could savor the moment and control my nervousness. And so, I’ve been asking myself:

• Should I really be calling people my “idols”?
• How am I supposed to act around my idol when I meet them?
• How do I remind myself that my idols are REAL PEOPLE?
• What do I do when Nick Offerman sends a photo of my T-shirt to Amy Poehler?
