Paolina Alexandra Russo is a second-year fashion design and knitwear student at Central Saint Martins in London, but she is originally from Toronto. I first found her work through Instagram. Her designs and drawings are playful, fun, and colorful—all the stuff I enjoy. When I visited her shared house in South London to take these pics, I discovered that her bedroom was just as fun and colorful as her knitwear. She also uses her room as her work space, so there are tons of different wool and fabrics and textures on display, as well as her personal fashion illustrations. I asked Alexandra about her bedroom and she said, “A space like this is so important because it gives you the chance to slow down and let time stop for a little bit. When you have a room that really just feels like you, it somehow gives everything you do so much more clarity. Things stop racing around your head, and all your ideas and processes and inspirations are laid out in front of you. Your whole head suddenly becomes accessible and tangible and easier, I guess.” —Rachel Louise Hodgson
