Taurus

taurus1 Louise’s tarotscope: This month is all about new ideas. Maybe you have an idea of what you want to write, or art you’d like to make. The last few months have felt a bit confused, like your head is a big sticky mess, or a ball of wool and you’re looking for the end of it: When am I going to know what I really want or what I’m going to do? This new year will snap you into the energy of what you’re excited about, and you’ll have a lot more focus. When I think about the word clarity, I think of a love match between an idea and your intuition. You know that point of inspiration when you’ve had an idea of what you’d like to do, and within you there’s energy, passion, and you feel crystal clear and excited—that’s your energy for January!

I want to touch on how this energy can also be part of school or college, too. Perhaps you’ve been avoiding working on a project or tackling an essay because you didn’t know what you wanted to write. When we have a fresh, new piece of information, it gives us a boost of confidence. If you’re hovering on the edge of something, Should I email that person? Can I pursue that thing? I’m scared to jump in, can I do this?, I want to give you a confidence boost and let you know that it’s safe to move forward, and it’s especially safe when it’s something that feels really good. We can’t always know the outcome of every action, and it’s easy for Taurus to be a perfectionist. Check in with that subtle point where perfectionism crosses over into procrastination. Only you can note where you slip to the other side. Remember when you’re working that there’s no such thing as perfect, and if we wait until every single thing is perfect, we’ll never take that idea forward. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to be you. On this new level of personal power and confidence, nurture and cherish everything that comes into your imagination. We can think that we aren’t “a creative type” of person, but creativity is just the energy you put into something. Our confidence comes from us allowing ourselves to pursue what we’re excited about. Take that leap, you won’t go wrong by following your excitement, and don’t put a limit on it.

Dylan’s advice: Your ruling planet is Venus, the goddess of creativity, attraction, and romance, so ooh la la @ you! Venus guides us to see, act upon, and create beauty in this world. Harness the power of Venus to unlatch yourself from fears of perfection that lead to procrastination—make a shrine to her that you can visit all year long when you need creative realignment. There are too many unique ways to approach shrine building, whether you are guided by any particular spiritual practice, or you would rather assemble items which hold a personal relevance and power. You can always create a shrine to Venus using figurines of the Greco-Roman goddess, but some other cool ideas might be to include a printed picture of the planet (ever peep NASA’s archive? Pretty unreal) framed with a circle made of dried roses (a flower associated with Venus), or even just writing the word VENUS with a glitter pen and tacking it to your light switch, or somewhere you will see it often. In alchemy, copper is associated with Venus, so what about putting a load of pennies in a lovely jar which can represent your IMMENSE WEALTH of creativity?! The Venus symbol (♀) is also a sign of feminine empowerment, what if you arranged beautiful objects or tokens of creativity (gems? dried flower petals? crystals? candles?) into that symbol to evoke her? Designate this shrine as a home base for your wild new ideas, and commune with it throughout 2016.
