Sagittarius

sagittarius1There’s this issue with a group of people you might be chewing on that you might not know what to do with, some facet of your social life is challenging for you at this moment. Or, maybe you’re the one challenging the people you’re hanging out with. All of this and then some is possible. The most important thing is for you to use the experience to better understand your boundaries. You don’t need to stay in any social situation that isn’t good for you. By realizing this, you can resolve a huge amount of tension and confusion.

The new moon on December 11th is all you—it’s in Sagittarius, and we’re beginning something in your life. As you may know, Saturn is in your sign. That demands something rigorous and weighty of you, bringing in some responsibility that you need to step up to. You’re ready for something more, something bigger, and this is going to test your capacity to be a grown-ass person in the world—regardless of your age! This new moon is an ignition for maturity. You don’t necessarily have to *do* anything with it, although if you wanted to, you might take a step toward a project or an application, using the new moon to begin something in that realm. Otherwise, I would really use it to meditate on the person you are growing yourself into. You don’t have to be PERFECT RIGHT NOW, or understand what you’re going to be what you grow up and how life will unfold. All you need to know at this point is the kind of person you might want to become, and what that feels like. Who do you want to be when you grow up? This new moon can stimulate those ideas and generate a vision.

The full moon on December 25th takes place in your 8th house, a place of other people’s money and inheritances. Because it’s a new moon in Cancer, this is likely about family, which can sometimes show up as money, but quite often it’s about what family stuff we want to remove from or keep in our lives. Look at the elements of your family that you really appreciate or love, whether they are small or big. Notice what good has come down through the ages to you, and see if there’s something there you can hold and be grateful for. But hey, it also might be one of those holiday seasons where you get a lot of money in cards from grandma!

Dylan’s advice: If you could Frankenstein your future adult self by electrifying a bunch of parts from pre-existing humans into a new life…whom would you graft your parts from? Sorry, that’s a little grotesque. But with Saturn asking you to step up, it’s cool to take the time to reflect on HOW you want to do that. In some ways, we’re composites of the people we learn from, and in the spirit of taking the good and leaving the less desirable inheritable traits from our families, consider the admirable adults in your life, your culture, your pop cultural consciousness, even, and take stock of what features and ethics come from them that you’d like to soak up for yourself. Make a list of the most heartening, motivating qualities of your elders, whether it’s your boss’s compassion and work ethic, your mother’s creative drive, Neil Degrasse Tyson‘s awe and intellect, Jenny Holzer‘s succinct fire, your professor’s depth and commitment, Rihanna‘s genius DGAF-ness. Plant these guideposts for yourself, and time (plus this planetary activity) will spark it all to life.
