While eating burgers together one day, Minna Gilligan, Ruby Aitken, and I decided we should host an unofficial Rookie reader meet-up in Melbourne, Australia (where we all live) to celebrate the launch of Rookie Yearbook Four.
The Melbourne Rookies who came to the resulting love-fest were Maggie, Ellie, Ebony, Laura, Olivia, Daisy, Ella, Selina, Iris, Aoife, Georgia, Ashleigh, Viv, Isabel, Georgia, Flame, Christina, Caleigh, Annie, Kim, Eleanor, Lily, Lachie, Sandy, Jas, Laura, and Sarah. They made the collages you’re about to see (Ruby compiled them into a digital zine after our collective sugar-coma wore off).
Here’s a recap, in pictures, of the day. We’re so glad we got to spend this time getting to know the Rookie readers who live in our city, and that we have this special archive of what we made when we all put our brains together. —Brodie Lancaster

This is so great! I wish we could have a meet up in Sydney Au :)
These are all intensely gorgeous
YES YES YES to number 17! I’m a Year 10 choosing my subjects for the year that really matters and currently going through work experience. It’s confusing and confronting but thank you for reminding me that the decisions I make now don’t set my life in stone. I should be excited because things have to change eventually. You Rookie readers and writers just get it.
