It’s summer. I’m loving it. Here are some daily updates:

June 30, 2015: A girl at the camp where I work at told me she had never seen eyebrows as far apart as mine. She prefaced her statement with “No offense, but,” so I was legally bound not to get mad at her. But I’ve spent a lot of time furrowing my brow since then.

July 2, 2015: I was told I will be getting my braces off in early August. I almost cried in the orthodontist’s reclining chair, but I held back. It sunk in later that day, when I realized that after August 4, 2015, I will no longer look 12. Upon this realization, I shed a single tear and began flailing about.

July 4, 2015: I paid $3 to see fireworks with a horrible backing soundtrack. (How does Sweet Caroline relate to Independence Day, and what makes it worthy of being the show’s final song?) I could’ve gone to a party afterwards, but I had to poop, and I physically can’t do that anywhere besides my upstairs bathroom. Instead my friend and I walked home, and she showed me a cul-de-sac that I had never seen before. (I love cul-de-sacs.) Once I got home, I decided cleaning my room would be more fun than partying in the USA.

July 5, 2015: I binge-watched Beyond Scared Straight and concluded prison might not be for me. The “Your Start Up Disk Is Almost Full” notifications started again. It’s time to delete every remnant of seventh grade from my computer.

Summer has been very good to me so far. ♦
