You can watch the trailer for He Named Me Malala, the forthcoming documentary about the life of the Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai. The film follows Malala through her book tour in the United States, her widely-adored appearance on The Daily Show, and her many public speaking engagements. But it also gives us a chance to see the person behind the activism—a smiling, friendly teen girl who loves her family. The film will be released in theaters this October.

Pitchfork TV released a documentary about the making of Souvlaki, the seminal shoegaze album by the band Slowdive, and you can watch it above. It’s the moving story of how a young band managed to create an enduring piece of music. I loved seeing old footage of Slowdive performing in dingy clubs, and then at huge festivals 20 years later.

What if a teen were president? Well, Prez, a new comic, explores that rad idea by having its main character, Beth Ross, run the whole damn country. Naturally, the premise derives from her fame as a viral video fail star (lol, she deep fries her hair) to her huge role of fixing the corrupt government. Sounds like #RooksForPres should become an unofficial 2016 bid!

As you might have noticed, Rookie is secretly a magazine about dads, so here for your reading pleasure is an account by teen-and-dad team Dorothy and David Dark of going to a music festival together. They went to Bonnaroo, which Dorothy describe as an event that involves “setting aside…your own cool.” A perfect thing to do with dads.

In other parent-related news, Tilda Swinton co-founded a Steiner school and didn’t invite me to go???????? Even though I’m not of school age??????????? Anyway, La Grande Tilda worked with a team to open a high school when she couldn’t persuade the trustees of her children’s middle school to tackle the project. The result is a beautiful-sounding institution where the students learn medieval music, build canoes, and don’t do tests. What!!!! My dream. Except maybe the canoe part. ♦
