Solid Perfume

Perfume is one of the many wonders of the world. It has the power to change how people perceive you…THROUGH THEIR NOSTRILS! I have always been kinda bent on finding my “signature scent,” and this recipe is it. This is my favorite blend, but feel free to do some research and use your own (safely, of course)! After all, to each their own (scent).

What you’ll need:

  • Two teaspoons of beeswax
  • Two teaspoons of almond oil
  • Ylang ylang essential oil
  • Patchouli essential oil
  • Sweet orange essential oil
  • An empty, clean lip-balm tube or another tiny, clean container with a lid
  • A pipette or an eye-dropper

How to do it:

Step One

Measure your beeswax and almond oil into a small, microwave-safe dish. Melt in 15-second increments. It took 45 seconds to melt my mixture, but make sure you allow the short breaks so the mix doesn’t get overheated. (And don’t forget to use an oven mitt when you’re removing your bowl from the ’wave.)

Step Two

Bring on the essential oils! I like the results I get when I use 24 drops of ylang ylang oil, 16 drops of patchouli, and 16 drops of sweet orange oil, but feel free to experiment. When you first add the oils, they will smell very strong. Don’t worry, they mellow as they’re stirred into the mixture and will become considerably less smelly ;) Be sure to mix well.

Step Three

Using an eye-dropper or pipette, fill a lip-balm tube or small container with a lid with your still-liquefied, soon-to-be solid perfume. (I prefer the lip-balm tube because it’s portable and great for re-application.)

Step Four

Let your perfume set for five to 10 minutes, after which you should have a wonderfully SOLID scent to wear and impress sniffers wherever you wander! ♦
