Ginger Spice

HolidayBev-03

Place four to six black chai tea bags, one thinly sliced orange, and four to five thin slices of fresh ginger in a pitcher of hot water and wait about five minutes for the tea to steep. Add a few tablespoons of honey (per desired sweetness). With the end of a wooden spoon, muddle (i.e., gently smash) the orange and ginger bits to release their flavors. Let the whole thing chill in the fridge for a few hours. Serve with a cinnamon stick! (Makes enough for four to six servings.)

Much like the red-headed Spice Girl, this drink presents a bit of pep to the palate. Also like her, it’s British (because tea). It’s an ideal mid-afternoon pick-me-up because it has caffeine, which will give you a little extra energy to wrap all of your presents or whatever. SPICE UP YOUR LIFE!
