These photos were taken on a bike trip through the Australian bush. In two weeks, my friend Nat and I covered nearly 200 miles and watched the landscape change as we loosely followed a long, wide, and winding river. We stopped early in the afternoon each day to collect firewood, bathe in the river, and cook by the fire. We crossed at least seven state borders and got at least eight flat tires, and I didn’t cry even once.
Big thanks to Nat Howells for taking three rolls of film and for being able to adjust camera settings whilst riding a bike.

Number 21 I’m in love
truly gorgeous and inspiring! i am breathless
This is inspiring. I always forget how beautiful this country is when all I see is the city and the suburbs. Thank you.
Wow! These are stunning! And that’s coming from an Australian! They’re so beautiful.
yaya my home! :)
AHHHHHHH I THINK I’M IN LOVE WITH ALL OF THESE PHOTOS! I’m also Australian and this makes me really happy to see such lovely photos, considering that most non-asutralians seem to be scared of this place ’cause of spiders and snakes and crocs and stuff. I think there needs to be more Australian environment appreciation posts on the internet… (also I really wanna know what part of Australia these were taken in because, though I hardly ever bike-ride, that sounds like such a fun way to get around)
I want to know where this is as well! It looks like it’s near the Murray river.
Yup! It’s along the Murray River. We also were simultaneously riding past the Murray & The Goulburn river at one point.. It was so beautiful. Made me appreciate Victoria so much more than ever before!
looks like in Germany ;)

I felt i was waching a movie

Love this; I’m seriously feelin the Moonrise Kingdom meets Badlands vibe
This is the prettiest thing i’ve seen in a while.
It’s like they were the only people in the world and were just exploring it
so gorgeous! this sounds like such an amazing adventure!
HOMEEEEEE : )
what state borders did you cross, and how long did you take to do all this?
(all six state borders and the borders of the one mainland territory would have taken quite a large amount of cycling – and you managed to look so stylish doing it)
It was along the Murray, so we crossed into Vic & NSW multiple times. That was the fun part! Being in two different states multiple times a day.
It took around 2 weeks, with a lot of fluffing about, and a lot of relaxing days. I can’t wait to do it again :)

aw man nice to see my country and state!! I’m guessing you passed near albury/wodonga? my cousins live near there and we go camping by the murray sometimes and it’s so nice and early winter mornings with the fog and then summer days where you practically live in the river and you’re swimming every day for several hours
i don’t think i’ve ever seen the wonder of australia captured this well!!!! i feel like i’ve never fully appreciated where i live up until now
