Issue 30: Escape

Suburban Homesick Blues

Finding secret hiding spots in the same old place as always.

Beth Dunne 02/20/2014
  • Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about the concept of escaping your hometown, and I decided to see what happened when I escaped inside the depths of a suburb instead. I found the following eerie and fascinating places, where the symmetry is almost too perfect, the streets are still and silent, and the wide open spaces can make a person feel totally insignificant. Thanks to Zachary Trevitt for assisting and modeling.

Oh my god! the symmetry in these pictures is so perfect. I think the description is quite fitting. It reminds me of Arcade Fire’s album The Suburbs.

    A question to Rookie moderators:

I want to post a comment under ‘What is mine,is mine’ , but I can’t!It was written in 2012,is it because of that and why?It shouldn’t matter if the topic is old.
