Everyone looks so great and like they are having so much fun.
How does such a thing even exist!? Awesome!
Also for any of the Rookie readers/writers from Brazil do you have any pics or stories about Carnival? I’d love to go someday.
yep, I’ve got a lot of old carnival’s pictures and stories <3 what do you wanna know exactly?
Everything. It all looks so amazing! How long is it? Why is it done?
it takes about week – some people don’t work and students don’t have classes. carnival is celebrated in a different way in every part of the country, but the most famous parade is in rio de janeiro. actually, it’s an old portuguese tradition. more about it here:
#6 : MER-MAN DAD, MERMAN!
Beautiful! HONY covered the Mermaid Parade, too. Wish I was there!
Looking at these makes me want to watch The Little Mermaid and feel nostaligc X)

This is perfect, I wish I was there! Everything is so pretty and pastel!!
Hi. First of all, these pictures are gorgeous! This is so cool… is it annual? Hmmmm maybe I’ll go next year.
Second, I just wanted to say that Rookie Roadtrip: New York Edition was flippin AWESOME! Tavi, you’re so sweet and so absolutely easy to talk to! I hope you like my amulet thing (?) (what?) and yeah. The end. Although I kind of wish I gave you my blog name because what would be cooler than having TAVI read your blog?! (WHAT? I’M NOT SHAMELESSLY SELF PROMOTING! PSHHHTTT.)
Anaheed, you are such a lovely person. There is nothing more welcoming when you are nervously excited than a beautiful woman in a silk lounge top hug you without warning! <3 *internet love*
Amy Rose, you are a totally bitchen’ dude/bro/man! #soupdumplings (need I say more?)
I didn’t really get to talk to Petra or Hazel, but you both seem so cool, as well as the band SUPER CUTE WHO WERE (in Charlotte’s words) SUPER CUTE.
Lastly, it was so wonderful to meet other readers! This group was so welcoming and everyone was so approachable and stylin’ and wonderful! Shoutout to all my new friends from That One Weird Girl In The Green Turban/Headscarf Thing. Yeah. And thank you for the waffle!
Hi, Gwen! It was so fun to meet you all, I am still dizzy from all the love. We have to make Rookie meetups a regular things, man.

I’ve been catching up in ‘what’s goin’ down’ over at the rookie roadtrip on instagram (i am maya_autumn) and it looks absolutely great…i just wish i was there! so pleasepleaseplease come over to England sometime if you can – it’d be smashing;D
but for now I’ll just have to imagine I’m there…
Yay! I’m ecstatic to see that you guys covered the Mermaid Parade! It’s one of the best (FREE) things to do in New York. (Did I mention that it’s free?!) And you get to dress up, so that’s really cool. I, myself, dressed up and made my own costume! I bought a shell bra from a 99 cent store, glued some gems on it with my hot glue gun, brought out teal sequined fabric to make my skirt, got some cheap pearly-like costume jewelry from a beauty supply store, and let my natural hair freee!
I was such a happy mermaid. *soul clap*
this is 402 kinds of glorious.
1 is gorgeous – loove the hair
awee this colors are so magical!
remainds me of aqua marine :’)
I am so disappointed I missed this! Beautiful pictures, though.
