Helping the elderly wasn’t exactly fun, but I’m glad I did it.
Start by saying these magic words: “It’s no big deal.”
You don’t have to understand what it’s like to be me.

Try a little tenderness.
People who commit acts of violence are still people.
I found something that made me feel less socially anxious: empathy.
