“Lady Sorrow” arises from the need to close a stage within a toxic relationship. For various reasons, I stayed away from photography, from my friends, and almost everything I love and enjoy. I felt like I was in a stage of isolation, and I learned to let go of the things that consumed me and were not good for me.

The teaching that this work left me is that often the most difficult thing is to start, but once that step is taken, the rest will flow. As a creator, I will always think that transforming the bad things in our lives into art–or at least trying to–can serve us well and sometimes even save us. ♦
