Falling in love can often be like it is in fairytales and movies. Romantic strolls and candlelight dinners. The other side of the bed always warm. Longing looks into each other’s eyes, limbs tangled in bedsheets, sticky kisses, intertwined hands. Patience and understanding. Forgetting what it was like before. Knowing you’d do anything to keep them in your life.

Falling in love can also mean disapproving parents and hateful siblings. Keeping your mouth shut in order to keep from upsetting them. Biting too hard on their lip as you kiss. Sweaty palms and their side of the bed cold on nights away. Forgetting to take your meds. Realizing that anything could mean your head on a spike.

(All of your writing is about them.) ♦
