In my part of the world, it’s almost that time to plant new seeds, plan for warm-weather adventures, and just get out of the house and into the sunshine again. It’s good to let go of some old things before we welcome in the new, so let’s do that creatively. This can take a few different forms. Maybe you have some old art supplies or materials that you need to use up—make something with them! Maybe you have personal belongings—old clothes, stacks of letters, or other meaningful clutter—that you need to say goodbye to but haven’t yet—take a series of photos of the stuff you are ready to donate. Or tell the story of your favorite day wearing a shirt before you give it away. A third take on this theme is to think about any emotions you’ve been hanging on to—the feelings you don’t want to bring forward into the next season. Write a poem or create a piece of art to help you let go. Whichever option you choose, and whatever form it takes, send your spring cleaning piece—along with your first name, last initial, age, and location—to [email protected] with the subject line “Creative Prompt” by Monday, March 20 at 6 PM ET.

Last week, we asked you to envision a new tomorrow. Here’s how you would rebuild our world…
