Nostalgia Day

All hail Nostalgia Day!

Humans waste a lot of time on being nostalgic. Top sociologists have identified nostalgia as one of the greatest issues of all time. It manifests itself in a lot of ways. You may think you are fine and immune. You may be reading this and thinking that you live in the moment all the time, right. I am sure you even have a tattoo that reads “Carpe Diem”!

However, do you participate in #throwbackthursday? Do you read texts from old baes when you are alone in your room at night? Have you ever gone on a google spree trying to work out that show you watched when you were five years old?

Instead of wasting days/months/years on reminiscing about the past, let’s compact all the thinking about the past into one super-fun day. A day when we can all get together and expunge the nostalgia from our system. A new holiday that really will be fun for the whole family!

Activities for Nostalgia Day include drunk calling that ex you should really be over by now, watching cartoons while eating cereal for dinner, and going to the playground. Remember the playground? Where you used to go to see if you could get high enough for the swing to do a loop-de-loop? Nostalgia Day is perfect for falling asleep with the stuffed toy you abandoned in the back of the closet ten years ago. It is about rereading the first novel you could ever read on your own. It is for eating the candy that your first love used to secretly eat in English class.

We spend so much time focusing on what we need to do. Let us spend a day thinking about what we have done.

Nostalgia Day 2017. Be there!

(So you can be reminisce about it next nostalgia day).
