For as long as I could remember I wanted to be in a band. Specifically, as a singer. I’ve kicked around thoughts of band names on various pieces of scrap paper around my room. One that seemed particularly appealing was Pickup Sticks. You know, that game that’s kinda like Jenga but with long thin wooden sticks? Despite the fact I can only play three chords on a guitar, I would want to be the singer. The responsibility of being a frontman (or frontwoman) is a lot to take on but, I feel confident I could do it.

Our genre would be alternative with a dab of punk. After our first album we would eventually turn to a full-on indie rock feel. Our band would have a DIY aesthetic both in the music and in our presence. While we record our first album each of us will have our own disposable camera to take pictures with. At the end of our recording process, we would develop the pictures, pick our favorites, and vote on which should be our album cover. Even our backdrop that hangs behind us on stage we will design and make ourselves. The four of us would start off by playing in small bars and clubs. Later, we would play nightclubs, amphitheaters, ballrooms, etc. as our album starts to circulate. We would even start selling the actual pickup sticks game as merch.

If my band could tour with any of my favorite bands right now it would be either the Front Bottoms, Modern Baseball, Catfish and the Bottlemen, or Wolf Alice. I’m a huge fan of them, and maybe, they will be huge fans of us, too.

As a rock star, I would want my lyrics to be honest and relatable. I wouldn’t want anyone to be upset at my shows. Our concert should make the audience feel like they’ve just been invited to their own surprise party. The kids coming to my show should be able to feel happy with no judgement being presented towards them. Those are the best kinds of concerts.
