It’s spring!!!!!! Or at least it is kinda-sorta starting to get there in my (Stephanie’s) part of the world: Seattle. Spring in Seattle means that instead of the sky being mostly gray, like it is a lot of the time, it does…other things. There are some pretty spectacular sunsets. It gets foggy, and buildings are covered up. And there are days with blue skies and fluffy white clouds. I find myself staring up at the sky a lot more when I’m walking or riding the bus, and that staring leads to daydreaming. I look for pictures in the clouds or fantasize about what might be beyond them.

So this week’s prompt is simple: Go outside and look up! What do you see up there? It may come in the shape of clouds—dinosaurs, unicorns, your history teacher’s face. Staring into space might bring up a memory of a really excellent day, or a daydream about what a kingdom up in the clouds might be like. Whatever it is, capture it! If you are a writer, write it down as prose or poetry. If you are an artist, take a snapshot of that sky or create a collage, sketch, or painting of what you see or imagine. Send us your slice of the sky, along with your first name, last initial, age, and city/state/country to [email protected] with the subject line “Creative Prompt” by Monday, March 21 at 6 PM EST. We can’t wait to see what a beautiful skyline we’ll build together.

Last week, we sent you on a people-watching adventure. Here’s what you created about the fascinating folks who crossed your path…
