scorpio1Louise’s tarotscope: There’s a really nice energy for learning this month. It’s a back-to-school feeling, which we get in September and we also get in January, with a particular focus on actually wanting to learn new stuff. It’s a very good month for you to try a new class or taking on a new afterschool activity. You’re in a place where you really want to receive new information, which can come in different forms. I’m advising you to dive into learning this month, and I mean that in the most fun and exciting way, because there’s also this energy around totally nerding out. It can come in forms of binge-watching Netflix or reading anatomy books or learning about mythical creatures! All of us have something we feel obsessed with and want to know everything about. You’re in this great space to soak up new things. You can flip this enthusiasm for learning, and look at it in terms of your year, too. Life is like a big school, where every person you meet and every single thing that happens is a tool for learning. It’s fun for us to get into that space, for when a challenge comes up in life, we can take it like an assignment, and decide what we should and should not take away from it.

We get a lot of high-pressure attention around what we want to be when we grow up. I want you to realize that the things that you’re learning and getting into are all evolving a bit like you are. You don’t have to commit yourself and your mind as someone who has to do ONE THING. This month is about being a massive nerd about the things you can’t stop thinking about. As a Scorpio, you very much like to have things that are just you, so kick off this year with a big lovefest with yourself and the things you’re super into! There’s a little bit of a collaborative flavor here, so if there’s something you want to geek out about with a friend, make it your month to go for it.

Dylan’s advice: There can’t be anything more fun than diving FACE-FIRST into a whole smush of books and websites about a subject you want to get expert in. Though it may not necessarily be information you can absorb through reading (like if it’s work by a film director or wanting to know everything about your city through exploring all of its avenues), you can collect tokens of your progress as you become a genius about whatever subject floats your boat. I would like you, too, (just like Taurus) to set up a shrine, but one that will be collaborative with your learning over the course of this year. A time-lapse shrine, if you will! Start with just one element of your desired area of expertise: Put out a beeswax candle if you want to become a beekeeper; wrap a piece of paper, upon which you’ve written a favorite quote from a writer you want to know better, around a tall blank candle that you can light while you read; or, place a picture in a locket or a teeny frame of the musician whose work you want to dive into. Add to this shrine as you learn something new about the subject: A favorite album that you discover along the way, a book you’ve completed, a quadrant of a map that you’ve fully explored, or a piece of the honeycomb your bees produced. Snap some photos of its development over the year so you can track your intellectual progress, as represented in this physical form.
