Upasna’s Memento Journal

This memento journal is an anxiety-free, imperfect journal that I like to start each year. Keeping it is pretty simple: I collect a memento from a good day, and then I write something about it. It’s kind of like a scrapbook!

Here’s a page from the journal I kept this year:

What you decide to save is totally up to you. It could be a movie ticket, a receipt, a printed photo of an Instagram post or a funny/inspiring/worth-remembering tweet, or even a handwritten note that records what a friend, crush, or other person in the world said to you that day that made you feel happy. Tape or glue the memento to a page, or just place it between two pages.

I like to write down posi stuff about the memento or memories associated with it, so when I look back at the journal, I remember what was good about the year. (Even if the year, over all, kinda sucked.) Sometimes I also keep something from an AWFUL day and write about it, because doing so is a way to help me let go of what happened.
