Dear New York,

To think that I have had the same crush on you for an entire decade is kind of embarrassing, especially since everyone believes that just because we have a long distance relationship it must be unrequited love. We will prove them wrong though, you and I.

I miss you so dearly. I miss our cheap pizza dates, Duane Reade runs, and dancing in the streets. Your periods of the cold shoulder only made me grow more excited to see you during the summer when you always seemed much more forgiving. Many say that you are much too high-maintenance, but I am, too, everyone is in their own way. Your features are jagged and defined, it makes me want to dive into your decisive, simple lines. I often fear I’ll forget the way you glimmer and dull, and stalking you on Google images does you no justice. Long distance is hard, but it will never stop my act of loving you from afar. I will never stop loving you, New York.

Forever yours,

Bella
