pinkplace workspace! ♥ —Diyana, 18, Ontario
My room is my favorite place for work and inspiration. I like drawing, painting, and photographing in here. I listen to radio programs and music. It makes me creative. —Ebba, 19, Sweden
This is my workspace. It’s in the photography room at my school—enlarger number five. We all call dibs on enlargers at the beginning of the year, and this has been mine for the past two years. —Erin, 15, Illinois
This isn’t my usual workspace, but I spent enough time here that I felt it fit the description. For my school’s art show, I had to make a display in one of these showcases. I spent many hours in here redoing the background, painting the plants, and finalizing some pieces. I even came in on a Saturday to work. This is my final showcase. The Frida drawing in the middle won a prize at another art show. After taking my art out, I put some junk in from the art room. My teacher said, “I don’t care what you put in there, as long as it looks good.” —Natalie, 15, Michigan
This is my workspace—the scribbled-on mattress is the only seat in the room. The wall is covered in my inspirations for photography, filming, and painting. The bottle of milk is for reviving creativity! —Jasmina, 16, England
My living space and my workspace are one and the same. Whether I’m working on my writing or my photography, at my desk or in my bed, the most important thing is to have a physical space that provides creative comfort. For me, that means surrounding myself with my favorite artwork. Even the bulletin board at my desk is covered with images and quotes to inspire me as I work. —Rebecca, 17, New York
Here’s where I like to do crafts, draw, et cetera. It doesn’t really look like it, but I have all my supplies in the drawers and behind the sliding doors. I love spending time just sitting on that rug, listening to music, and making art—some of which is displayed on my collage wall! —Maddie, 17, Pennsylvania
My little art space. ♥ —Zoe, 17, Delaware
Here’s a photo of my current workspace, where the (writing and interviewing and thinking and crafting) magic happens—cup of Earl Grey tea not pictured. The green lamp’s on loan from my boyfriend, but I like it so much I might just ask to adopt it. —Olivia, 22, New York
:) —Rachel, 19, Manitoba
This is my workspace in my quaint apartment. —Chrisline, 20, California
Here’s a picture of my desk, where I work on most of my creative projects. I’ve decorated it with things that inspire me (photos of friends, my favorite candle, and my plants). I’m currently working on sewing pom-poms all over this denim jacket. I also paint, color, collage, and journal here. —Maggie, 17, Minnesota
My workspace is distracting when I have school work to do, but when I’m fiddling away at an art project, my wall gives me a splendor of ideas! —Monaqua, 17, Australia
When I saw the call for submissions, I knew I’d have to share some photos of the office-cave where I’ve spent most of my past two years. I just finished my Leaving Cert, which is the final exam before uni in Ireland. Here’s where I swore at Thomas Hardy and cried over Maths. On the left wall, there’s a little “inspirational” collage with young Neil Gaiman and a few of the spaces I hope to study in come autumn. For now, though, I just have to wait for my results! —Choy-Ping, 18, Ireland
Here’s my happy place :) —Laurie, 19, British Columbia
Here is my workspace—comfy and spread out on the floor! —Johanna, 20, North Carolina
I’m a desert girl living and studying in the Bay Area. This is a picture of my workspace (above my desk). —Jenai, 20, California
My workspace is a MESS, just like my LIFE! HA! —Josie, 17, Minnesota
Even though there’s a brand-new, organized desk in my room, I end up lying in my bed every time I work, so all my creations can come from a heavenly pillow nest. —Celia, 19, Spain
In order keep your creative channels flowing, surround yourself with things that inspire you…and it doesn’t hurt to have a bag of candy nearby also. —Elinor, 17, California
I make my creations (mostly collages and poems) in my room, generally on the floor next to my desk and art supplies. —Margaret, 17, Ohio
I am really lucky to live and work in an amazing warehouse—an old peanut factory, in an area that I have been told has the highest concentration of artists per capita in Europe. This photo of my workspace is pretty typical of these live/work places, so I am also really lucky to have lots of other creatives around to bounce ideas off and collaborate with. —Teän, 22, England
This is the “work” corner of my bedroom. You can spy my jazzed up Rookie sewing machine, vintage cheerleader jacket, and revision timetable—as I’m in the midst of revising for the Bac. Also, I’ve just been accepted to my dream art school for next year, so I’ve been drawing quite a bit there! —Clothilde, 17, France
My workspace. —Jeanne, 15, Connecticut
Here’s my workspace, featuring my plastic pyramid of pens, heehee! —Nysha, 17, Singapore
One of my favorite places to daydream and create in my visual journal: My desk in my bedroom :) —Alanna, 18, North Carolina
The place where I journal and paint and sketch, but mostly do a lot of staring out the window while listening to Hole and thinking about being a teenager. —Grace, 18, Washington
This is the corner of my bedroom where I do all the design-y part of my fanzine. My house isn’t big enough to have a separate room, so all the magic happens here! Generally by the end of a huge collaging/lay-outing/whatever session, my whole floor is covered in newspapers ’n’ magazines ’n’ other zines ’n’ photos, et cetera in some sort of huge visual paper mind map. It’s pretty sweet. —Avalon, 16, England
This is where I like to make all my crafts, mostly because it’s the only place where can I make a mess in my house. Glitter is an essential to most of my crafts; I excessively use it. My favorite area in crafting is making jewelry. —Zarah, 15, New York
I’m just a little bit disorganized.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ —Josie, 13, California
During summer two years ago, I couldn’t get a job or any work experience—just rejection after rejection. I got so sick of it that I stopped applying, fixed up this workspace in my room, and focused on entering writing competitions. I ended up with a commendation and a bunch of writing I could be proud of. Bright primary colors are super-stimulating for me, and the pictures and articles are inspiring and motivating. —Christy, 20, England
:) ♥ —Chloe, 15, New Zealand
My desk is a place where bad ideas come to die and good ones come to flourish. —Ally, 13, Colorado
Sophie, 20, Nova Scotia
My work space where I draw, write, paint, et cetera. —Chrysta, 19, Washington
My workspace is filled with markers, glitter tape, and pictures of people I love. —Natalia, 17, California
This space is the only workspace that I don’t hate after being here for more than two hours (working in retail or my homework desk cannot always be enjoyable). It’s where I sit and play for hours, writing songs and belting out emotions that I’ve felt for the day. I have decorated it with my favorite Indian mat, which I hope to start taking with me once I begin expanding my music to open mics and gigs. It’s my good luck mat. —Sarah, 17, Australia
This is a picture of my workspace (aka the DaniCave.) I create my “artful masterpieces” here and think and read and do a bunch of other random things, too. This is the only place that I can be me. In the DaniCave, I can be a messy mess of sad and whimsical and emotional and extravagant and thoughtful and powerful and silent and mad and original all at once without being judged. Here is where I feel I am truly me. Everyone should have a place where they can be truly themselves. —Dani, 13, Wisconsin

These pictures are so inspiring! Time to pick up my paintbrush again :)
AHHHH I LOVE LOOKING AT PEOPLE’S STUFF
Aww, I guess my workspace photo didn’t make it into this post. It’s cool to see where everyone else does their thinking/creating, though!
I think a persons workspace/ room says so much about them, and you can learn so much about a person just by looking at the posters on their wall.
Lol at semiubiquitous macbooks erwhere
Haha I thought the same thing!
I feel like such an outsider with my HP hahaha
I’m a big minimalist when it comes to my workspaces, but it makes so much sense how so many people surrounded themselves with art and poetry they loved so that they could channel those vibes when they were working. Also, this is super inspiring for redecorating my room, so thank you for that :-)

I love this so much- I don’t have a workspace as of now so this is givin me loads of inspiration
I love how a person’s work space reflects who the person is. Like some people are totally minimal, some organized, some artsy; it’s honestly beautiful to me. I personally love the spaces with inspirational photos hung up–I might try that soon. xo
