T-shirts and posters are great for advertising your fandom for a band, TV show, et cetera, but if you’re anything like me, then you’re always on the lookout for new and creative ways to proclaim your passion for, say, Elaine Benes.
In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to make a charm ring using an image of your choice and resin—a viscous liquid that hardens when it cures. Find a picture of your favorite TV character, singer, or, I don’t know, maybe print out that picture of yourself you took when your bangs were super on point, and let’s make a massive, glittery piece of jewelry:
What you’ll need:
- Parchment paper or wax paper
- Mod Podge
- Tape
- Scissors
- A paintbrush
- Resin (I used EnviroTex Lite Pour-On High Gloss Finish resin)
- Rubber gloves
- A sanding or painting safety mask
- Disposable measuring cups (like the kind that comes with cough syrup)
- Wooden popsicle sticks
- A plastic straw
- A wooden skewer
- Plastic cups
- A resin mold
- A mold-release spray (I used Castin’ Craft Mold Release and Conditioner)
- Glitter
- A strong, clear glue
- Ring blanks ♦
