ahhh this is great <3
As someone who’s never been great in science class I can totally relate to the beginning and I love this article! I would love to find such an inspiring science class in college.
Aw this made me smile :) #15 was my fave
Also, now I’ve got serious collage envy over here. Yikes. You folks are talented!
this is so beautiful. thank you for sharing!
I’m pretty okay with science, but I’ve never been much of a nature person. The great outdoors have never intrigued me. I did enjoy this sort of a comic, and I’ll be sharing it with my science teacher.
This is amazing!!! <3
YES! right here, now… I loved this so much, the collages, the story, everything! thanks rookie, this is why I keep coming, now is time to make a new journal, because I find inspiration with this.
Love from Colombia!
what gorgeous work. i love the collages. its so cool that you discovered an intrest in something you thought you could never enjoy. it just goes to show its not always the student’s problem as to why they can’t learn, its the fact that everyone learns differently. amazing
This is really lovely.
A suggestion for all comics: can you also have the written text underneath each slide? I find handwriting hard to read, especially in different colors, and the words are totally inaccessible to people who are visually impaired!
CAN I GET A HELLLLLLLS YES??!
As a lifelong nature-phile, I am SO HAPPY to see this kind of stuff on Rookie. I think nature-as-therapy is incredibly powerful (tho not a substitute for the real deal for those who need it, of course). But that element of the natural world–its power to renew us and refresh us and lead us to a special sort of perspective, as the text and drawings convey so perfectly–is easy to miss if you don’t know to seek it. That Meredith came into it on her own, and shared her experiences with us so beautifully, is inspiring. Thank you, Meredith and Lucy both.
This is incredible, I’m in love <3
Beautifully written and illustrated <3
These drawings are perfect :)
Bisous from France,
Sandy.
in the midst of my exam-induced anxiety, this gave me so many posi-vibes and revived so many in-nature memories (waterfall chasing, elephants on a safari drive, shooting stars, running through wild fields with my woes etc) that are always my go to mental place when I feel like the world is so terribly huge and intimidating and claustrophobic.
also, the collages are unbelievable. [heart eyes emoji plus crying emoji.]
#15, both texts and collage, is so perfect
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us, Meredith! And thank you for your stunning drawings and collages Lucy!
I relate with endless mathematical and scientific struggle; but this is absolutely stunning!
Awww I love this
