Oh, Ananda. That is such a hard thing to go through. I’ve helped many friends through this type of thing, and I know it sounds cliche and un-helpful, but it does get better. Just try to stay strong and show your friend that you care. Sometimes that’s all a person needs.
And just remember that you, and your friend, are not alone.
Sending hugs and prayers your way.
Britney, that is literally me every summer.
I think my brain slowly degrades due to the mediocrity of summer. I’m with ya, Britney
all 4 of you inspire me to keep living
wow… what a situation. Amanda, you are a enormously good firend.
Britney just described my past three summers. I hope this one turns to out to be a little less mediocre.
I LOVE Lilly’s piece <3
Ananda, I used to be a lot like Jessica (minus an awesome friend like you). Cutting is a hard habit to break, in a lot of ways it’s an addiction. I agree with the other commenters; just show her that you care, that her life is precious to you. I also agree that things will get better, but true recovery takes a lot of time and relapses. If my younger self had a friend as awesome and supportive as you are I’m sure I would have recovered faster.
Damn, that last sentence of Ananda’s entry just hit me so hard.
