Allison Crutchfield and her band Swearin’ put out a new record last month called Surfing Strange, which is sort of the reason she has a gnarly gash on her nose. (She cut it on a cymbal at the release party.) In this video, one of our favorite twins plays a couple songs—one called “What a Dump,” from Swearin’s first album, and a new one called “Loretta’s Flowers”—and tells us why every band she’s been in has been the one she thought would stay together forever:
Happy spring, Rookies! We’re currently looking for work on May’s theme: TOGETHER. It’ll be a hopeful month about friendship and community and love-for-love’s-sake and the sentimental feeling you get at the end of the school year. Coming out of hibernation and being at ONE with the WORLD. Working together. Power in numbers. Creative projects, uprisings, benevolent conspiracies. Group therapy, teamwork, THE HIVE. Send us whatcha got: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you! ♥
