I discovered the photographer and blogger Arvida Byström online, having seen pictures of her effortlessly playful sense of style posted on various blogs. We hung out when I visited Stockholm in fall 2010, and since then we”ve worked together many times.
These portraits of Arvida are an early collaboration. They were taken in my friend Issy’s house in London a few years ago. They’re a Věra Chytilová-inspired exploration of forgotten treasures that you might find under layers of cobwebs in the attic, or at the back corner of a flea market.
Arvida was wearing a prom dress that I bought at a flea market. Everything else is her own clothing.
