Friday Playlist: Been Hiding

Songs by artists we wish were bigger.

For this playlist we asked staffers to suggest songs by acts that they wish more people knew about. The irony is that by putting them on this list of underexposed artists, we are exposing these very artists to more people, possibly (hopefully) disqualifying them from this VERY LIST. Argh, our brains hurt, bye, hope you enjoy.

    Meg & Dia
most underrated band I’ve ever loved. Also, Maps & Atlases and Good Old War.

The video for Monster is one of the best and most creative indie rock videos I’ve ever seen. I only know a couple of their songs but I felt that they brought something fresh and different to the table for sure. I don’t always agree with their opinions on things when they speak in interviews, but I think this makes respecting someone’s work that I am so different from, more interesting. Their lyrics are amazingly poetic. Songwriting seems very hard so I respect anybody that can do that. I even heard Meg say in an interview that songwriting was so hard for her at times. That was one of her opinions that I actually agreed with! lol
