Friday Playlist: Twee Party

Sugary-sweet songs about feelings.

If you wake up every morning to a cup of tea and something from the Sarah Records roster, you’re probably twee. Sprung from the British indie pop scene of the late 1980s, twee pop is all about high-pitched vocals and sugary-sweet lyrics. Here are 13 of my favorite twee tracks.

That thumbnail is everything. I would love the source. Also, I feel so quintessentially girly and light listening to this.

Definitely drinking tea and listening to this 8track while finishing a visual communications assignment in the park. Am I twee yet?

Twee was my entire high school soundtrack, and the first two songs on here were two of my favorites!

Also, everyone should listen to Tullycraft’s “Rumble With The Gang Debs.” It it is the ultimate girl-gang-y anthem and I have a dream of filming a fashion-y music video to it someday.

I don’t think this is the source, but that picture reminds of photos taken by Ralph Eugene Meatyard (awesome name) he took pictures of his kids wearing masks in abandoned buildings. Very Tim Burton/funhouse-esque
