Ask a Grown Man: Judd Apatow

“The most important person in the world is you!”

Judd Apatow produced and wrote Freaks and Geeks, which should have lasted forever and instead got canceled after one season. But he also wrote and directed some hugely successful movies, including The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up, produced movies like Bridesmaids, and is currently an executive producer of Girls. So, he knows a thing or two about life and stuff.

I would like to find the person out there that thought having, of all people, Judd Apatow answer questions from teenage girls and give them a hug.

  • Phoebe June 26th, 2012 4:40 PM

  • rayano-banano June 27th, 2012 6:31 AM

Why are the mostly famous Hollywood people doing this? Can’t it be someone who lives a life we can relate to.

    • babydoll June 30th, 2012 1:28 AM

I understand what you mean, but don’t you realize that these people once lived the life you’re living right now? And that one day, you COULD live their ‘famous’ life too?

Think of it that way. That’s sort of the ‘point’. At least, in my opinion.

All of our other advice posts are written by us, the writers and editors of this site. I am a fan of all the people who have done Grown Person videos for us, and I think it’s fun and funny to get advice from them because I love their work.

I saw this video posted on sparknotes.com…

  • Y-asmin June 29th, 2012 6:26 PM

So brilliantly awkward and funny. New found love for Judd, I always knew who he was but I just never really bothered to look him up properly. Thanks for introducing, rookies!

  • babydoll June 30th, 2012 1:27 AM

I’m 20 years old and some of the things he says in this video; I’ve obviously already gone through.
Other things… no, but since he’s right on the stuff I have gone through (about 50%), it’s safe to say I am bookmarking this video for future reference when I am discouraged about life. I’m really surprised by the content of this video; I only know of his work but I had no idea who he was or that he’d have such ‘true’ answers.

  • Jenn July 1st, 2012 1:05 PM

One of the most endearing and sincere “Ask a Grown Man”s yet!

  • mar9ar3t July 1st, 2012 1:19 PM

    • Emilie July 11th, 2012 1:54 PM

Oh my god Neil Patrick Harris would be the BEST
