Such an interesting post! I love old theme parks!!!!!!!
#7,#22,#24,#50 were my favorite!! But they are all so awesome!
I REALLY want a jacket with a Frida Khalo patch on the back. AWESOME!
Safiya
Oh. I thought it was Mao. lol…
It might be….from here it looks like Frida. If it’s not…..It would still be cool.

I have the same backpack as the girl on the left.

because it’s the best backpack in the whole world!/surprisingly much like marry poppins in its ability to fit things
tara grrrrrrl, with your prada sunglasses, i see you
<3
hey there naomiiii. I still feel guilty wearing them but then I remember that I deserve to wear them because I won them! getting used to that idea (even though designer things are so foreign to me)
omg. I want to live in this photoshoot.
so happy with how this came out! the photos all look beautiful together. thank you dearly rookie.
ps. the links to our bios aren’t working for some reason?
Your bios are on the last page — not linked from the bylines at the top.
Thank you SO MUCH for letting us use these gorgeous photos!
got it! thanks for the help. and no problem at all. rookie is the best.
AHHH in picture 29, Mike ( I assume) looks just like Jack from Titanic… Except with awesomer pants. Also, the guy in picture 40 is really hot…
Love how you can see all the different takes on the setting! Such a cool set of photographers with such diverse views. Thanks ROOKIE! ^_^ <3
oh #34 is beautiful.
these are all so great! i love that jean jacket. :)
oooh me too!!
My friends and I would dead class in college for coney. LOVE IT. Although I’m a Bronx girl I love Coney for being home to the WARRIORS.
Duck Bootz. Fushh Yeahhh. These pics are stunning <3
i’m yer little harlot, starlet, queen of ~coney island~ raising hell all over towwwnnnnn >;)
I love these! AND I WANT A JACKET WITH FRIDA ON IT SO BADLY! It’s so cool. Rookie, do an article on how to make a jacket (with Frida) on it? :D Or maybe just an article of Frida Kahlo. She certainly did lots of exploring in her life.
i’d be happy to do a DIY!!! (though it might just be like “SEW RANDOM STUFF YOU FIND ALL OVER AN OLD SHIRT”)
LOL.That made me laugh :) ♥♥♥
I saw some photos from this day a while ago on Mike and Lauren Poor’s blogs, and PRAYED that somehow Eleanor would think of putting them on Rookie. Of course, you guys hijacked my thoughts/hopes once again. BRILLIANT.
Also two posts involving Eleanor in two days? You guys know what makes me happy! :D
god, i love these. coney island is definitely somewhere i need to visit.
#40!!! OMGGG
WHAT A HANDSOME GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These are SO COOL OH MY GOD, 54? blow my brains out with beauty why doncha?
oh so gorgeous. this is the best early-spring style inspiration. I love the Frida-valentine-backpatch, and the ankle bracelets over boots over weird leggings combination reminds me of Rayanne Graff in a big way.
Second comment because sorry but I am obsessed: looking at these while listening to Wake Up by Arcade Fire will make you cry from beauty. Especially #16, #22, #29, #35… they seem to encapsulate the kind of joy that song has…
sorry back in my cage now
Yay! Love it! :-)
I love everyone’s outfits… and I so want to visit Coney Island!
Eleanour put your boots on – Franz Ferdinand
Looks like so much fun..
That song was playing in my mind while looking at these.
Wow i wish i was there right now. Looks beautiful. My favourite picture is #7, everything is just perfect!! Thank you so much guys for this inspiration! Eye candy is my favourite thing on rookie, i enjoy reading all of your posts but when it comes to wonderful photography i freak out every time.. xxxx
#CONEY2012
Oh my God! This looks so good. I have the same backpack from Fjellraeven, and use it for school. Almost every hipster in Scandinavia uses that exact backpack. :) I love these eye candy shoots.
this is beautiful
guyyyys, your JACKETS! i’m dying, i love them so much! i assume you customized them yourself?
i did mine myself… it’s just an army shirt i gopt for 50p at a fetsival. some of the patches were made by me, the eye inside the heart was made by my friend jenkin and a couple of smaller ones were made by my friend mirren. frida kahlo was actually bought from this shop in brighton that sells loads of imported handmade mexican things, but then i sewed her inside a big vinyl heart with lace around the edge! luv my bb jacket <3
ahh! I love this! It reminds me of me and my friends and it is great!
Amazing photos! Just beautiful!
WOW! So inspiring pics! ;D
#16 looks like she just landed with her broomstick!
Very good photos, looks like it was fun!
So many nice pictures! I`m soo sick right now so it`s fun to look at something so nice :)
I love #3 and #50, I wanna go there now.
luhhhvveee the fjallraven kanken, i have one in dark blue with a ton of patches on it. so creative to take pictures at a theme park.
love that jacket!!!

Too cool! Any exploration suggestions for a girl from Queens?
this is a weird one but the Calvary Cemetery is hauntingly beautiful. it seems to me a city of graves (because it’s so large and surrounded by skyscrapers and buildings)! museum of the moving image is supposed to be a great place to visit though it’s not so much for exploring? I’ve heard about abandoned buildings. maybe do some searching (and take care!) this for example is safe, available to see, and decaying, thus strangely beautiful
Great photos. Part of the movie “The Wiz” was filmed there I think. I’ve always wanted to go.
I love the pictures! For the record, The Cyclone is the scariest rollercoaster I’ve ever been on. It’s not that it’s particularly large or fast, but it’s made out of creaking old wood, so when you’re on it, you feel like it’s going to fall apart at any second. My favorite kind of rollercoaster.
Do you guys dress like this on a daily basis?
Because that would be my favorite thing.
This is great, I love all of it! I’ve been meaning to get over there.
