And it is adorable.
Among our dreams in life is watching Kimya Dawson sing a Burt Bacharach song to a common garden snake. Today, that dream comes true.
Video shot by Aesop Rock featuring Kimya Dawson and Panda Dawson-Duval.

…at a certain point Rookie just has to stop being so darn cool :D I still think I dreamed Moldy Peaches on the View.
the fact that this was shot by aesop makes me so ridiculously happy
Hello fellow Alaskan!??! I was thinking the same thing. Can we be friends
When I first saw Juno I loved the sound track and I kept thinking who is that amazing unique voice singing these awesome lyrics! And of course my question is answered by Rookie. Rock on!
I love her music (and rainbow socks)! I had no idea what she looked like, it’s not what I expected, but in a good way. And that snake was sooooo cute! and the frog!!!
AHMAHGAWW THAT FROG
SO CUTE, I WANNA KEEP IT
LOVE her voice. Gorgeous.
if only ‘common garden snakes’ in australia were that cute
Her voice is so amazing! I love “Juno” and her songs on the soundtrack are my favorites (although the whole soundtrack is awesome)…
Common garden snake… In Germany we don’t have snakes in our gardens (or elsewhere… well I’m not sure, but I’ve never seen a snake outside a zoo.)
I think zazza would be happy if she’d say the same, right?
i’ve never seen a snake like that and i’m from the states. you are not alone
the weirdest part of kimya dawson singing is that she sounds JUST LIKE KIMYA DAWSON
So great, I love her. And the frog and snake are adorable.
Genuinely wish I was that snake :/
Was this filmed for Rookie, or did it already exist?
Either way, it’s completely precious.
It wasn’t filmed for us, but Kimya gave it to us exclusively, for which we are very grateful! She’s gonna make something just for us in due time, too. We swoon.
Hi, Rookies! If you’ve made anything—writing, photos, video, comix, etc.—you think might be right for us, please send it to us here. As always, thank you! ❖
More fun than should be allowed.
It felt great to be part of the most popular clique in school. Being thrown out felt…not so great.
